G1 is the highest grade of Ethiopian coffee beans. Front Street washed fruit dices, Front Street sun-dried red cherries, Front Street Kaffa Forest, and the most popular Front Street Oiran all belong to G1. However, due to different production areas and different processing methods, each coffee bean also shows different flavor characteristics.
For example, this year’s new production season of Front Street Oiran G1 coffee comes from the Buku Abel processing plant in the Gujihanbera production area. It uses sun-drying processing. This is a processing method in which coffee cherries are spread flat on African nets to dry. Finally, the coffee has rich tropical fruit flavors, rich layers of citrus and pineapple juice. The entrance is the sweet and sour flavor of peach, guava and strawberry jam, and the ending is a rich and charming floral aroma and the round taste of black tea.

Front Street Oiran coffee beans belong to the Ethiopian production area in Africa. African coffee has a relatively clear flavor, obvious floral and fruity aroma, and prominent acidity. With this flavor characteristic, the roasting of coffee beans will be light to medium roasted.

If the coffee beans are darkly roasted, the taste will become bitter and caramel, and the floral and fruity aroma will be eliminated. This will not be consistent with the characteristics of the coffee beans themselves, and it will not be the flavor of the Ethiopian production area. Therefore, in order to highlight the advantages of Front Street Oiran, two roasting curves are recommended, one is the medium-light roasted Front Street Oiran coffee corresponding to hand brewing and cold brewing, and the other is the medium roasted Front Street Oiran SOE coffee for SOE espresso and Moka pot.

Front Street Oiran coffee beans all use the following brewing scheme:
Filter cup: V60#01
Water temperature: 90-91℃
Powder amount: 15g
Pink to water ratio: 1:15
Grinding degree: medium to fine grinding (Chinese standard No. 20 screen pass rate 80%)
Brewing method: three-stage extraction. Use 30 grams of water to steam for 30 seconds. When the water level drops and the powder bed is exposed, continue to pour water to 225 grams and stop pouring water. When the water level drops and the powder bed is exposed, remove the filter cup. (Steaming starts timing) The extraction time is 2'00'.
Front Street Oiran SOE coffee extraction parameters
Coffee beans: Front Street Ethiopian Sundried Oiran G1
Amount of coffee powder: 20g
Coffee liquid volume: 40g
Powder to liquid ratio: 1:2
Extraction time: 25~32 seconds
Grinding scale: Galileo 2.0 grid

The coffee machine used in Front Street has a double powder bowl capacity. It needs 20 grams of coffee powder each time. The powder-to-liquid ratio for extraction is 1:2, which means that 40 grams of coffee liquid can be produced in a reasonable time. The single extraction time will be controlled between 20 and 35 seconds. Then use a powder spreader to spread the coffee powder, and use the tamper to press vertically downward to fill the coffee powder cake tightly to ensure more stable coffee extraction.

Then turn on the extraction switch and let in water for 1 to 2 seconds to moisten the brewing head and take away the coffee grounds stuck on it. Place an electronic scale under the cup where the Espresso is connected, return the weight to 0, and place it under the brewing head during extraction. Gently snap the handle onto the brewing head and start turning down the extraction switch. Observe the changes in the extraction liquid. When the electronic scale shows that 40 grams of coffee liquid has been extracted, and the time is about 30 seconds, pull down the extraction switch.
Front Street Oiran Pour over(V60) coffee flavor: mixed berry-like aroma, creamy strawberry, passion fruit-like sour and sweet taste, obvious sweetness and full taste.

Front Street Oiran SOE coffee flavor: Concentrated with moderate light yellow oil, smelling of fragrant tropical fruits, making Front Street Oiran SOE American style highlights the sweet and sour berry and orange flavor, like a cup of refreshing black tea, with a clean aftertaste; making Front Street Oiran SOE latte, it tastes sweet and smooth, with the flavor of creamy cranberry and caramel aftertaste.
