If there are any unavoidable names in the Ethiopian specialty coffee scene in recent years, then Front Street believes that Alo Coffee’s Tamiru and Elto Coffee’s Eliyas Dukamo must be among them. Whether in international competitions, micro-lot auctions, or in the beans lists of global boutique roasters, the names of these two brand founders have almost become synonymous with "high-quality Ethiopian coffee."
The full name of Elto Coffee is Elto Coffee Export PLC. It is a cutting-edge green bean export brand established in May 2022. The brand was co-founded by Eliyas Dukamo and his wife Atiklit Dejene. Although it was founded only a short time ago, its exposure in the professional coffee circle has grown rapidly.

Eliyas was born into the Dukamo family in Bensa, Sidamo, and is a typical "second generation coffee". Before founding Elto, he served as the operations manager of Daye Bensa Coffee, a well-known local coffee company. He has been involved in the international green bean trade for a long time and has a very mature understanding of the export process, quality management and market demand.
Atiklit Dejene also has a strong professional background. Not only does she have a bachelor's degree in agriculture, but she was also responsible for green bean processing management at the highly publicized Gesha Village Estate. She later joined Daye Bensa, where she was responsible for micro-batch and experimental processing projects, and accumulated a lot of practical experience in post-processing, fermentation control and quality stability.
The two met while working together at Daye Bensa and co-founded Elto Coffee based on a highly compatible concept. The fact that the brand has gained market recognition in a short period of time is not accidental, but the natural result of the couple’s long-term accumulation in cultivation, processing and trade.

In terms of brand naming, the word "Elto" comes from the ancient Cushitic language widely used in the Sidamo region, and has a double meaning: one is "beyond love" and the other is "abundance". From Front Street’s perspective, this name just sums up the core philosophy of Elto Coffee—not only stemming from the passion for coffee, but also trying to fully convey the value of the place of origin in a systematic way.
As previously introduced by Front StreetAlo CoffeeSimilarly, the core layout of Elto Coffee is also located in the high-altitude zone of the Sidamo production area. The base is mainly located in the middle of Bansha Town, close to the two villages of Kokose and Gango. Among them, there are about 600 small farmers in Gango Village. Coffee is mostly grown on small farmlands of 1 to 2 hectares, often intercropped with banana trees, forming a typical Ethiopian traditional farming landscape.
Currently, Elto Coffee operates a number of processing stations. Among them, the Songo processing station located in the Hamasho region is the highest one. It is run daily by Eliyas’ brother-in-law and his family, with the highest altitude approaching 2,350 meters. The significant temperature difference between day and night, stable microclimate conditions, and mineral-rich volcanic ash soil together create a highly recognizable coffee growing environment and attract small farmers from many surrounding villages to participate in cooperation.
The second treatment plant is the Elora treatment station, named after the eldest daughter of Eliyas and Atiklit, and is located in the village of Arbegona at an altitude of approximately 2,250 meters. Viewed from the air, the pink-purple roof is its most iconic visual feature.
In addition, Elto Coffee also has a MOFA processing station in the Mofa Mountain (Magic Forest) area and operates a Bare processing station. Most of the fresh coffee fruits are harvested from the nearby native highlands. The three batches purchased by Front Street this time came from two treatment plants, MOFA and Bare.
