Summer is here, the weather is hot and it is easy to get tired. Some friends want to drink a cup of coffee to refresh themselves, but the Americano is too bitter and difficult to drink. Today Front Street will teach you how to make a cup of sweet and soft iced latte.
How to make iced latte?
First of all, the composition of iced latte: espresso + milk + ice. Knowing what it consists of, you can then complete the step-by-step preparation required, starting with pouring ice and milk into the cup, and then making the espresso.

The coffee machine used by Front Street has a double powder bowl capacity, which requires 20 grams of coffee powder each time. The extracted powder-to-liquid ratio is 1:2, which means 40 grams of coffee liquid can be produced in a reasonable time. The extraction time is related to the flow rate of the coffee powder. Generally, the single extraction time will be controlled between 20 and 35 seconds. If it is less than 20 seconds, the coffee will easily taste thin and bland, and if it exceeds 35 seconds, it will easily over-extract and cause the coffee to have a burnt and bitter taste. Therefore, Front Street will control the espresso time within the range of 26 to 32 seconds.
Before extraction, we need to dry the powder bowl first, turn on the grinder, grind out a double portion of coffee powder, place it on an electronic scale and measure the increase or decrease until it weighs 20 grams. Then use a powder spreader to spread the coffee powder, and use the tamper to press vertically downward to fill the coffee powder cake tightly to ensure more stable coffee extraction.

Then turn on the extraction switch and let in water for 1 to 2 seconds to moisten the brewing head and take away the coffee grounds stuck on it. Place an electronic scale under the cup where the Espresso is connected and return the weight to 0. Place it under the brewing head during extraction, then gently buckle the handle onto the brewing head and start to turn off the extraction switch. When the electronic scale shows that the coffee liquid has been extracted to 40g, the extraction will stop. Finally, pour gently over the ice and milk.

Are there any tips to make it taste better? some.
First: Choose the right coffee beans to make espresso
The flavor of coffee beans can intuitively control the taste of iced latte. Most Italian blended coffee beans will give the iced latte a rich aroma of nuts, chocolate, and baked bread. We recommend Front Street Classic Italian Coffee and Front Street Commercial Blend Coffee. The rich and dense oil can not only improve the mellowness of the iced latte, but also bring out the sweetness of the milk in the iced latte.

The flavor of coffee beans can intuitively control the taste of iced latte coffee. Dark roasted Italian blended coffee beans will give the iced latte rich nut, chocolate, caramel, and strong coffee flavors, while medium roasted coffee beans will give the iced latte a soft taste.
Second: Reasonable ratio of milk to coffee
After choosing the coffee beans, it’s time to choose the milk. If you want to make a delicious iced latte, Front Street believes that it’s best to use fresh milk with a higher protein content! Then, let the milk and coffee liquid fall into a reasonable proportion range.

Front Street Iced Latte uses Front Street Sunflower Warm Sun blended coffee beans and Guangming Fresh Ranch Milk as raw material. The ratio is 40g of espresso liquid, 150ml of fresh milk and 75g of ice cubes. This ratio is for everyone's reference, not the golden ratio of latte coffee. Front Street is a parameter obtained through multiple ratio adjustments using the above-mentioned materials, mainly based on real tasting feedback.

Point 3: Details of operation
Just like the operation method of [put ice, milk, and coffee] for iced latte is simple and clear, there are actually some small details that need to be paid attention to. The most important thing is the extraction of espresso. Whether a cup of latte tastes good or not depends on whether the espresso extraction is up to standard. Like the common channel effect, common concentrated extraction problems such as unequal extraction time will naturally affect the taste of iced latte. The process of making an iced latte also needs to be fast. What fast means here is that the time the ice and milk are in the cup should be as short as possible, and the extracted espresso should be poured into the cup as soon as possible.

By grasping these details, Front Street believes you can easily make a delicious iced latte at home.
