Are the steps for making Pour over(V60) coffee cumbersome and troublesome? So is there a convenient way to drink coffee that is similar to Pour over(V60) coffee? Of course, Front Street recommends using an American drip filter.
When many people hear the American drip pot, they automatically think of some bad coffee. In fact, this is a misunderstanding of the American drip filter pot. The American drip filter originated in 1965 and was one of the most popular small household appliances in the 1980s. Its working principle is very simple. You only need to lay filter paper on the upper floor, pour in coffee powder, then fill the water tank with water, start the machine, and the American drip filter machine will automatically heat the water and inject it into the coffee powder, dripping out the coffee liquid. Some coffee machines also have the function of keeping or heating the coffee liquid.

Because the coffee beans used in the past were roasted darker and stored for a longer period of time, the drip coffee was very light and had only a bitter taste. Americans generally like to add water multiple times and continue brewing, resulting in only a very weak coffee flavor after several brews. This is also what American coffee has always been criticized for.
But if used properly, an American drip machine can still produce good coffee.
1. First of all, the choice of coffee beans. Front Street recommends using freshly roasted coffee beans, because freshly roasted coffee beans have a full coffee flavor. After being stored for a long time, the coffee flavor will run away, leaving only the dull bitterness of coffee. Generally speaking, coffee beans will taste better if they are grown for 4-7 days starting from the roasting date, and will taste better if they are consumed within 2 months.
Some friends will ask what kind of coffee beans are better for an American drip filter machine. Generally, any beans suitable for Pour over(V60) coffee can be used in an American drip filter machine. As for the specific coffee beans to use, it depends on personal flavor preferences.

②Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Red Cherry Project. As the most representative African coffee bean, Yirgacheffe has captured a large number of coffee drinkers with its rich floral aroma and fruity tones. As a sun-dried Ethiopian bean, Red Cherry Project has very good quality and is also very suitable for making cold brew coffee. Making cold brew coffee shows very sweet berry, layered, honey and other flavors.

③Costa Rican Musician Series Mozart. Musician series coffee beans have always been known for their highly recognizable flavor. Mozart coffee beans are processed with anaerobic honey, showing aromatic osmanthus, grape, and fermented wine flavors. Mozart was very good at making iced coffee, with equal emphasis on flavor and taste.

2. Appropriate powder to water ratio. Generally, Front Street will recommend a ratio of 1:15-1:17. If calculated based on 25g of coffee powder, 375-425ml of water can be added to the water tank. The coffee brewed at this ratio has a moderate concentration and a balanced taste, and is not prone to burnt, bitter or astringent feelings.
3. Suitable grinding degree. The grinding degree is the same as that of hand punching, medium to fine grinding, and the passing rate of No. 20 standard screen is 80%.

Specific operation method
Put the bottom pot into the coffee machine, open the upper cover of the coffee machine, pour in 25g of coffee powder, and add 400ml of hot water into the water tank. Then close the lid, press the start button, and the American drip filter will start extracting coffee.

The water flows down from the water tank and enters the U-shaped heating pipe. After being heated to 100°C, the hot water at the front is pushed to the water outlet pipe through water pressure and temperature pressure, and then sprayed out through the water outlet. After the hot water drips into the coffee powder in the filter, it is fully soaked and extracted and flows into the bottom pot. After about 5-8 minutes, a pot of American drip coffee is completed.
