Flat White is translated as flat white/Australian white coffee, also known as "fresh milk espresso", named after China's StarbucksFuli white coffee". Fancy milk coffee originating from New Zealand and Australia. It is said that during World War II, Italians immigrated to New Zealand and Australia and brought coffee culture to the locals, which gave rise to Flat White coffee in the 1980s.

Fuli white coffeeThe origin of

There are two rumors that Fuli White Coffee was invented. One is that the barista wants to make a cappuccino (the coffee will taste heavier than a latte, and the milk foam will be thicker than a latte), but the milk foam is not whipped enough, resulting in a cup of milk coffee with a coffee taste that is heavier than a latte, and the milk foam will be thinner than a latte.

One reason is that many consumers want to drink milk coffee with a strong coffee flavor, but do not want to drink latte with a ratio of 1:6 coffee to milk. Therefore, some coffee shops have launched a milk coffee with a small portion and a ratio of coffee to milk of about 1:1, making a cup of fresh milk espresso that is only about 3oz.

Regardless of the reason, we can see that the coffee concentration of Fuli White Coffee will be higher than that of latte coffee. Some coffee shops also use espresso (higher concentration than regular espresso), and then pair it with milk foam that is thinner than latte to form a cup of milk coffee with a velvety texture and a strong coffee flavor.

Therefore, the authenticFuli White CoffeeCoffee is only available in hot version. However, in order to meet the different needs of consumers, Starbucks has launched a cold version. Compared with the hot version, the cold version of Fuli White Coffee will be thinner. If you want to drink rich Fuli White Coffee, FrontStreet Coffee recommends choosing the hot version.

Espresso coffee flavor characteristics

Espresso is a type of espresso. Compared with the espresso we talk about every day, espresso extracts less coffee liquid under the same extraction parameters as Espresso, so the concentration is higher than Espresso. If the beans used to make the espresso are sour, the espresso will be more sour than Espresso.

FrontStreet Coffee currently produces espresso products, all of which use its own blend of "Sunflower Warm Sun Blend Coffee Beans", which is a blend of 30% Ethiopian sun-dried Yerga and 70% Honduran sherry coffee beans. After cupping on the front street, the flavor of this coffee bean is whiskey aroma, soft berry sourness, vanilla cream, and nutty caramel.

For daily Espresso extraction in Front Street, a pressure of 9-10bar is used to extract coffee liquid with a powder-to-liquid ratio of about 1:2. Generally, a single espresso uses 9-11g of coffee powder and extracts about 15-25g of coffee liquid. A double espresso uses 18-20g of coffee powder and extracts 35-45g of coffee liquid. The less coffee liquid is extracted, the higher the coffee concentration will be.

Ristretto is actually espresso with a smaller extraction ratio. Therefore, FrontStreet Coffee uses the same grinding size and powder volume as espresso, extracting less coffee liquid and taking a longer extraction time. Generally, the ratio of powder to liquid extracted is about 1:1.6.

Fuli white coffeeproduction method

FrontStreet Coffee uses a 200ml cup, adds double espresso (35g), and pours hot milk with thin milk foam from the middle while dispersing the espresso. This approach will give a gradual flavor expression. The first sip is the rich fermented aroma of espresso, the second sip is the flavor of strawberry milkshake produced by the fusion of espresso and milk, and the third sip is the flavor of roasted nuts produced by the fusion of a small amount of coffee and milk.

Because the taster is required to drink the coffee in its most perfect state, it must neither be too hot nor too thick, but must also be dense. If Caccinobu and latte require an airy "cotton", then Australian white coffee must pursue a silky "smooth" quality. Front Street hopes that the Australian white that customers drink is creamy and smooth but not too "watery". We will retain 0.3cm of milk foam layer and concentrate for fusion and latte art, and control the temperature at 50 to 55 degrees Celsius, so that it is easier to drink.
