"Why does the coffee I brew have no taste?" "Why does the coffee I brew turn out to be too sour/bitter/too bland?" These are the problems that many friends who are new to ear-mounted coffee will encounter. This article has some tips from FrontStreet Coffee on brewing ear-hanging coffee~
If you want to brew coffee with a richer aroma, the most important thing is the freshness of the hanging coffee. After the coffee beans are roasted, there will be a large amount of carbon dioxide in the beans to protect the aroma/flavor molecules of the coffee beans. As the time after roasting is extended and the particle cross section increases after grinding, the release of carbon dioxide is accelerated, and the aroma and flavor will also dissipate.

Hanging ear coffee is a product that is individually sealed and packaged as quickly as possible after grinding. However, as the storage time is longer, the flavor will become less and less. Therefore, the flavor shelf life of hanging ear coffee is generally only about 30 days.
All hanging coffee currently sold by FrontStreet Coffee is ground and packaged immediately after the coffee beans are roasted and cooled, and shipped within 5 days of the roasting date. So whether it’s coffee beans or hanging coffee, FrontStreet Coffee is 100% guaranteed to be freshly roasted.

How to make delicious hanging ear coffee?
- The wrong cup capacity causes the ear-hanging bag to come into contact with the coffee liquid, causing serious over-extraction.
- Soak the ear bag directly in water
- Use a water dispenser to collect water and do not control the water volume, water temperature, or brewing method.
- Use the coffee powder in the ear-hanging bag as instant coffee, pour it into a cup and brew it directly

The above points are the most common wrong brewing methods of ear hanging. Brewing ear-mounted coffee is not like making tea bags. After the coffee powder is ground to a medium-fine level, the soluble substances in the particles are easily released in hot water. If the cup does not have a certain height and the ear-mounted coffee is soaked in water for a long time, it is easy for the outermost layer of coffee powder to keep releasing substances.
After the coffee particles release sweet and sour substances in the front section, they will release mellow substances in the back section. The right amount of mellow substances can improve the overall fullness and body of the coffee, but too much will cause a bitter taste.

The net content of an individually packaged hanging ear of FrontStreet Coffee is 10g and can brew 150g of coffee liquid. Therefore, when choosing a cup, it is recommended to use a straight heat-resistant cup with a capacity of 230ml or more.
Water that is too hot will not work for brewing coffee, nor will water that is too cold. The optimal water temperature for brewing ear-mounted coffee is 90-91 degrees Celsius. The temperatures of barreled water dispensers and large hot water machines are both on the low/high side. At the same time, direct injection of water may cause the water to leak out from both sides of the ear-hanging bag without passing through the powder layer, causing the coffee to taste thin and easily burn your hands.

For everyone's safety when brewing, FrontStreet Coffee recommends that you buy a small ear-neck coffee kettle. One is to pack a stable water flow, and the other is to allow the coffee powder to be more fully soaked.
The correct way to brew coffee with hanging ears
1. Tear open the packaging bag and take out the ear-mounted bag.

2. There is a dotted line on the top of the ear-mounting bag. Tear along the dotted line.

3. Open the ear-hanging bag and hang it on the cup

4. Brew three times, add 30ml of water for the first time, wait 20-30 seconds for the coffee powder to simmer.

5. Next, add water 2 times with an interval of 10 seconds, about 60ml each time

6. After rinsing, remove the ear bag and drink.
